TERNATE, JhaziraMU – Aksi mahasiswa di depan DPRD Kota Ternate hingga Tugu Makugawene, Senin (1/9/2025), direspons langsung oleh Gubernur Maluku Utara Sherly Tjoanda. Didampingi Wakil Gubernur, Ketua DPRD, Kapolda, Kajati, dan Wali Kota Ternate, Sherly menerima 17 tuntutan mahasiswa.
Dalam pertemuan itu, Sherly mengapresiasi sikap mahasiswa yang menyuarakan aspirasi dengan tertib. Ia juga menyampaikan terima kasih kepada aparat TNI–Polri yang menjaga jalannya aksi.
Salah satu tuntutan yang menonjol adalah pembebasan 11 warga Maba Sangaji, Kabupaten Halmahera Timur. Gubernur memastikan akan mengawal proses hukum tersebut. “Saya sudah berdialog dengan kejaksaan agar semua aspek dipertimbangkan. Proses harus adil dan terbuka,” ujarnya.
Meski demikian, Sherly menekankan beberapa tuntutan lain, seperti persoalan izin usaha pertambangan (IUP), berada di kewenangan Pemerintah Pusat. “Aspirasi mahasiswa akan kami teruskan ke pusat,” tandasnya.
Kapolda Maluku Utara Irjen Pol. Waris Agono menyatakan siap menjalankan setiap kebijakan pemerintah terkait isu reformasi Polri. Sementara Wali Kota Ternate menegaskan aspirasi warga Ubo-ubo sudah diteruskan ke Kementerian ATR/BPN dengan usulan skema HPL sebagai solusi hak atas tanah.
Aksi mahasiswa ditutup dengan damai meski sempat terjadi ketegangan. Kehadiran Forkopimda Malut dinilai menjadi momentum penting untuk memastikan aspirasi tersampaikan dalam suasana demokratis.
